We often practice conservation by participating in the state ulua tagging project which includes ulua, omilu, goldspot trevally, amberjack (Kahala), and others. You can see the tag on the Blue Fin Trevally #4.

The HogFish is only found in Hawaii waters.

When trolling to and from the bottom fishing spots we drag artificial lures to try to catch other fish like Mahimahi, Ono, Tuna like the skipjack (Aku), yellowfin (Ahi), wavyback (Kawakawa), and occasionally even Marlin. We actually did catch a 350+ pounder on the way to the bottom fishing spot about two years ago. Rarely we will also catch baraccuda, bluefin trevally, and giant trevally while trolling.
